Deja Vu at Sam Lord's Castle

My family and I went on a trip to Barbados, when I was very young. My stepfather had planned for us all of these wonderful sight seeing tours. My sister and I were not all that interested in sight seeing, we just wanted to be poolside all day, doing nothing but soaking up the sun and taking the occasional swim, here and there, when it got too hot.

One of the sights that he had planned for us was a trip to Sam Lord's Castle. We arrived at the castle and my sister and I started wandering around and found ourselves in a very large dining room.
Suddenly, I had this intensely strong; completely overwhelming feeling of having been here before. It was like being hit with a sudden realization, boom! I actually remembered being there, it was a very strange feeling. I turned to my sister and said: "I've been here before." She looked stunned and said to me: "No, you haven't." "Yes, I have, I've been here before." I insisted. "I have." I nodded my head; yes, I felt it in my soul.

In front of us; there were two large double doors. I said to her: "Do you see those doors?" She said: "Yes." I said: "Well, beyond those doors is a pathway that is lined with flowers and trees and arbors, and beyond that pathway is a cliff that drops down into a sand pit, and then after that is the beach, and then the ocean...."

"Let's go and see what is on the other side." I offered.
My sister and I walked over together and we opened the doors at the same time. Everything on the other side of the doors was exactly as I had said it would be; the pathway and the flowers and the arbors and when we walked to the end of the path, there was a large cliff that dropped into a sandpit and then beyond that was the beach.

My sister turned to me with a stunned look on her face and said to me: "How did you do that?,.......

The Hurricane                                                         Go to: next - previous - top - bottom

My sister was planning a trip to Venezuela. I had an uneasy feeling about her plans and told her as much. "Are you sure you want to go on this trip? What if the plane crashes? I'm worried that something bad is going to happen to you; if you go, or you'll be trapped in a foreign country, or not come home at all." She reassured me that I was worried about nothing, that she could handle herself just fine.

Her words did nothing to alleviate my feeling of impending dread, I still did not want her to go. I tried to talk her out of it again and she said that the seats were already reserved and she had paid the travel agent, and that it was a done deal. "You worry too much, everything will be fine." She boarded her plane, as scheduled and her and her companions were on their way.

On the fourth night, after I had laid down, I started to hear strange noises. All of a sudden, I was gripped with intense panic. I could hear the sound of things being crashed, tossed around and broken, fiercely. I heard a window break, and could see water rushing in, 'we're going to drown', and I felt very cold, I tried to see, but everything was so dark. Shivering underneath the blankets, I heard: "Oh my God! We're going to die!" "We are going die here." It sounded like my sister's voice.

The next day, the phone rang. It was the mother of my sister's traveling companion. She was scared. She was talking so fast, about her son and my sister being trapped in a hurricane. "What?" I asked. I hadn't wanted her to go so badly. "A hurricane? Are they okay?" "Yes, they are fine, the worst of the storm has passed and they went to a different hotel. But the hotel they were staying in, got hit pretty hard, the roof was torn off."

My sister called and told me that it was a very scary experience. When the hurricane arrived, the hotel staff had huddled them into the basement, and it was a good thing that they had, because the room they had stayed in, was completely destroyed, and all of the furniture had been carried away.

When they brought all of them into the basement, that the first thing she was aware of was how dark and cold it was. As the storm raged on around them, it really started to get scary when she could hear parts of the building being ripped off and furniture being crashed around and literally torn apart. I asked her if she had said those words out loud, "Oh my God, we're gonna die." She said no, but she had thought it. She said: "How did you know?"

'I heard it, felt it and saw it.' I asked her about the window breaking, 'The window in the basement broke and rain water started coming in.' She feared that the entire basement would be filled with water and that they would drown, trapped in there.

The Flood is Coming                                              Go to: nextprevioustop - bottom

It was April, 2005. I was drifting off to sleep one night and heard these words come into my consciousness: 'The Flood is Coming'. It was loud and it very was distinct. It made such a strong impression on me, that I changed my instant messenger name to: The Flood is Coming.

Monday August 29th, 2005. The first levee broke as a result of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Four months after I was warned there would be a flood. There was already 10 feet of water in some areas by 11 am that morning.

Four months pass, and nothing happens.

Wednesday August 31st, 2005. The storm has been downgraded to a tropical depression. By this time, 80% of the city of New Orleans is already under water. Hurricane Katrina is declared 'an incident of national significance'.

I kept a close eye on the news, and prayed everyday for the people that were trapped without water and food. I watched rescues on TV & the aftermath of the storm.

The Key                                                                   Go to: previous - top

I remember one day being at a class that I was taking, at the local College. All of a sudden; I could hear in the back of my mind, it seemed like; I heard a small voice that sounded just like my son's voice and it said: "Come home" then, I heard it again "Come home, Mom."

"I have to go now." I said to my friend I was studying with. "Right now?" She asked. "Yes, right now." I said. "But we're not done our project.....Why?" She asked. "I just do." I replied. "Well can't we at least finish the project?" She asked. "No, sorry, I'll see you tomorrow." I replied. I left right away, quickly gathering my books and leaving the building straight away.

I drove straight home as quickly as I could. I turned the corner of my street, only to find my son standing outside on the front porch. I thought this was unusual, as he had never been on the front porch at any other time that I had arrived home. I asked him what he was doing on the porch, and he said that he had locked himself out of the house.

Then I asked him if he had said those words out loud because he had locked his key in the house. He replied: "No,... but that's what I was thinking."
